I know that the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends zero TV for kids under two, but my son and I watch Sesame Street every day that I am home with him. (For fun, check out Sesame Workshop, a more parent-oriented site.)
Actually, I know that he learns from w
atching it the way we do. And one adorable thing stuck with him from the show the other day. Some kids were showing Elmo how they hopped like frogs, and my son and I spent about 15 minutes ribbeting around the house. Elmo helped us discover a good way to get some exercise in these long winter months. Frog sweatshirts from GrowlGearStore.com would only have enhanced the fun!We actually had so much fun, two days later, when my son was wearing his doggy sweatshirt, we chased each other around on the floor, barking, begging and jumping until we collapsed, out of breath and laughing.
Maybe, if TV spawns such cool ideas, some of it's not that bad after all. (And maybe I'm not that bad of a mom!)
